Esmail Patel, founder of the company, was born Deaf in Greater Manchester in 1983.
His preferred language of use is British Sign Language,
which is complemented by
his lip reading skills. Esmail
graduated from the
University of Central
Lancashire in 2006, with
a Combined Honours
degree in Business
Information Systems,
Criminology and Career
Management.
Esmail’s experience has included:
- A Leadership Trainer for the Yorkshire Sign Film Festival, Bradford
- A Relay Interpreter for The Interpreter Booking Service, Manchester
- A regular Conference Speaker for The National Association Of Disability Practitioners,
London and Manchester
- A Deaf Recruiter with the Deaf Cognition and Language Research Project, University
College, London
- A Teaching Mentor, Support Worker and British Sign Language Translator at the former
City College Manchester
- An Assistant Project Leader for The National Deaf Children’s Society, Scotland and
Cornwall
Meanwhile, Esmail currently divides his time between co-ordinating DEAF, working
as a Youth Worker at Manchester Deaf Centre.
